Resound is an Edmonton-based adult choir that sings a mix of challenging repertoire, from classics to contemporary pieces from all genres and musical cultures. In addition to creating choral artistry, we offer a place for young artists in Edmonton to share the joys of music-making with others in a similar stage of life.

Tuition Information

Annual Fees for Resound are $720.
Tuition payments can be submitted in full in September or in two installments in September and December.
In addition to tuition fees, at the start of the season, Resound singers submit a $100 fundraising deposit per singer, a $50 music deposit per singer, and $100 volunteer deposit per family. These are refunded at the end of the choir season if the required fundraising and volunteering are completed and if the sheet music is returned without damage. A $100 Registration Deposit is due upon registration to hold your spot in the ensemble.
This deposit will be applied towards annual tuition fees and the balance will be owed in September (if paying in full) or in September and January (if paying in instalments).

Financial burdens should never get in the way of singing in choir. EYCC offers bursary funding to qualifying singers in need.

Families with multiple singers in EYCC ensembles receive a 10% discount on annual tuition fees.

For the 2026/2027 season, there may be section leader positions opening.
If you’d like to be considered for a Section Leader position, please indicate this on your audition request form.
Meet Resound’s Conudctor
Hi, I’m Andrew Bortz
I’m the conductor of Resound, Edmonton’s young adult choir. I’m also a singer, and accompanist, currently pursuing a doctorate degree in conducting at U of A.
When I’m not at a choir rehearsal, I’m probably playing chess, experimenting with a new cocktail recipe, or hanging out with Samara, our sons, and our dog, Pepper.

Every new Resound singer is required to complete an audition prior to registering. Auditions include 1-2 prepared songs, sight-singing, and ear-training. You can request an audition here!

Yes, Resound is an advanced ensemble for singers with extensive choral experience.

Resound requires a high level of commitment in order to meet our standards of choral excellence.
Singers must commit to attending all regular Thursday rehearsals and 3 – 4 performances per year. Travel and touring opportunities are optional, but encouraged.

EYCC has a long history of dedicated, positive, and spirited volunteering! Because we are a non-profit organization, we rely on chorister and parent volunteers to help keep our programs running smoothly.
We collect a $100 volunteer deposit and each choir family is required to volunteer a few times throughout the year to get the deposit back. You can find all the details about our volunteer policy here.

Choir tours are optional, but encouraged! Families pay for choir tour fees and the organization subsidizes travel costs when possible. Fundraising opportunities are provided throughout the year to help individual singers’ pay for their tour fees.
