Genna Putt

Luminaria Conductor

Genna Putt was born into a musical family in Newfoundland, where she became very involved in the Arts community and developed her passion of music, particularly singing. She studied at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick where she received a Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Music with a major in classical voice.  She continued her education at Memorial University of Newfoundland, receiving a Bachelor of Music Education.

Genna has worked as a private vocal coach for students of varying ages throughout Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Alberta, while founding Sharp Vocal Academy in Edmonton. Genna has also volunteered with several community groups to enhance their appreciation of music and its accessibility within their respective communities. She has been involved with organizations such as Eastern Music Camps, Festival 500, and MUN Lab Band.

Genna has taught within Grande Prairie School District, Grande Prairie Regional College, and Parkland School District as a choral specialist, private vocal instructor, and classroom music teacher. She has also developed a choral program that consists of multiple choirs at Greystone Centennial Middle school, where she currently teaches.

The rare times when Genna is not singing or teaching, you can find her outdoors in nature or in the kitchen. She loves to hike and bake, and hopes to bring her sense of adventure, and eye for detail into her rehearsal space. Genna is very excited to share her passion for singing through teaching, and is looking forward to working with the singers of Harmonia.
